With the Philadelphia 76ers signing Ersan Ilyasova, they needed to clear a roster spot. This meant Trevor Booker needed to go, and find a new home.
Many expected Trevor Booker to head West and join a top tier contender, but Trevor Booker will sign a minimum deal with the Indiana Pacers for the remainder of the season, once he clears waivers. If Booker was looking to get a bigger role this makes a lot of sense for both sides. Booker is an excellent rebounding specialist, and Indiana currently ranks 19th in the league in rebounds per game.
In 33 games with the 76ers, the hardworking big man averaged 4.7 points and 3.7 rebounds with the Sixers since joining the team earlier in the season via the Jahlil Okafor deal. These numbers may seem low, but he played just 15 minutes a night off the bench for the Sixers.
